If you want to get Medicare to pay for a power wheelchair, you need there are some steps to follow.

Step 1: Medicare has several parts, and Medicare Part B pays for the electric wheelchair, make sure you have Medicare Part B.

Step 2: Have a face-to-face exam with your doctor to get a prescription for a wheelchair.

Step 3: Find a Medicare-enrolled DME supplier of electric wheelchair. The supplier will work with the doctor to determine the best wheelchair for your needs.
